The 2009-2010 Assets and Opportunity Scorecard for states, published by the Corporation for Enterprise Development, provides important data about the wealth gap in Massachusetts. Disparity in net worth is pronounced in Massachusetts. Although Massachusetts ranks seventh in the U.S. in household net worth, it has one of the nation’s lowest homeownership rates when examined through the lens of race and income.
