We are grateful for the opportunity to provide the following items to families in our core savings programs:
Gift cards (restaurants, grocery stores, clothing stores, large retailers like Target, Walmart, Home Depot, Barnes and Noble, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, etc.)
Accounting software
Tickets to sporting or cultural events
All of these items can help our families stretch their limited budgets and reach their asset goals – and perhaps even enjoy a day or night out with their children.
In addition, when available, Compass provides these items as incentives for families to excel in our programs. In order to encourage and reward outstanding efforts in our financial education workshops, Compass conducts a weekly drawing, usually for a gift card, with the names of participants who performed exceptionally well on their homework. This small but meaningful token of public recognition, which builds participants’ confidence and pride, encourages all participants to excel and to reach their goals.
