When it comes to women and money, there's one statistic with which many of us are familiar:

for every dollar a man is paid in this country, a woman earns 79 cents. This gap is stark, but it pales in comparison to the gap between what men own and women own, particularly women of color.

This is the women's wealth gap:

Our work at Compass is a proven model to help close this gap.

Every day, financial coaches at Compass support our clients to build wealth and work toward their financial goals. More than 90% of our clients are women, which has been the case since we launched our first coaching and savings program nearly 15 years ago.

Meet Lidia, a Compass graduate

After years of living in subsidized housing, Lidia worked with her coach to reach her goal of owning her own home. Watch this short video to learn more about her story:

We are taking strides to sharpen our focus on this issue and looking for others who want to help us close this gap, with the launch of our Women's Wealth Equity Circle.

Join the Circle to:

  • Connect with a network of women with an interest in learning more about this issue, and taking action to help close this gap

  • Get access to special events and other opportunities to learn and connect on this issue

  • Be recognized for your commitment in Compass publications and special features about this Circle

Circle members commit to making an annual gift of $1,500 or more, which sponsors one woman to work with a Compass coach for an entire year to pursue her goals, build wealth, and close the gap.

For more information on the Circle and how you can get involved, contact Carolina Samudio-Ortega, Director of Advancement.
